The Newton Municipal Building, designed in 1978 by HQW Architects was in need of an addition to satisfy the space requirements of an expanding town hall staff. The addition was to be completed without interrupting or delaying town business in the original municipal building.
The entire building now houses the Police Department with upgraded security features, Town Administrator, the Building Department, and related municipal offices all with upgraded technological systems. Public spaces include the Municipal Courtroom and several meeting rooms. The Police spaces include offices, conference rooms, cells, and interview rooms.
